I'm Content

“Without a man, I’m incomplete.”
That’s a myth, I dare not repeat.
With my current state, I’m content.
My singleness, I won’t lament.

I know godliness is great gain.
I won’t be consumed with things vain.
On God’s perfect plan, I will wait
For He will soon send me my mate.

Meanwhile, I seek to please the Lord;
Letting Him down–I can’t afford.
I find fulfillment in His love.
I’m blessed and favored from above.

Of my life, God is in control.
I don’t need a man to feel whole.
With Jesus, I am satisfied.
In His presence, I am gratified.

Renewing Our Vows

On this day, we renew our vows.
A decade, we stayed married. Wow!
Time moves fast when you’re having fun,
Sharing it with a special one.

“I do,” we’re saying it again,
And upon my face, rests a grin.
I take you as my lawful wife.
I always want you in my life.

No other mate would I select.
My first decision was correct.
I’m glad I picked you as my bride.
Our knot–I pray it remains tied.

What would I do if you were gone?
You reign as queen on my throne.
I reaffirm my love for you.
This journey, may we continue?

Your Help Mate

You are the one whom I adore.
By you, I am well spoken for.
All my days, I shall be your wife,
For I am your partner for life.

I will do more than wear your ring.
Virtue to our union, I shall bring.`
Our marriage will be worth your while.
You will prize our trip down the aisle.

With honor, I give you my hand.
Your every wish is my command.
Your requests won’t go unheeded.
I will perform what is needed.

I purpose to please only you.
Yes, I promise to remain true.
Your heart can safely trust in me.
Your best interest, I shall hold key.

I will do you good–not evil–
Be you rock amid upheaval.
No reason you will have for shame.
o ensure you shine is my aim.

I will support your endeavors.
Be a hindrance, I will never.
I’ll believe in you just because,
Even when nobody else does.

Your goals, I will help you attain,
Renewing your hope when it wanes.
I shall walk by your side with pride,
Assuring you to keep your stride.

I won’t merely be called your spouse.
With wisdom, I shall build our house.
With love, I will make it a home
And let you be king on the throne.

Thankful We Met

I’m thankful for the day we met.
It is one I will never forget.
You introduced yourself to me.
The most blessed woman, I had to be.

You inquired to know my name.
To get acquainted was your aim.
The more we talked, the more I learned,
The favor of a gentleman I had earned.

We conversed about many things.
Dialogue, you knew how to bring.
You asked me my innermost thoughts.
My attention, you’d already caught.

You were interested in me–
More than my outward beauty.
I could relax and be my true self–
Lacked the need to hide on a shelf.

Our likes and dislikes, we expressed.
So similar–who would have guessed?
Much in common, we found we had.
Value to each other, we’d add.

At making me laugh, you were skilled.
You in my life, the Lord had willed.
My full approval, you had won.
Convinced I was–you were the one.

All my days with you, I could spend.
Us two–we would easily blend.
Each other’s presence, we preferred.
A true heavenly match, we were.

A deep place in my heart, you had hewn.
I was already in love–so soon.
I’m thankful for the day we met.
It is one I will never forget.

A Good Thing

I found me a mate–a good thing.
Happiness to my life, she brings.
When I wake with her at my side,
I am thankful she is my bride.

What did I do to deserve her?
Me above others, she prefers.
God graced me with her love;
I obtained favor from above.

No better choice could be my wife–
My companion she is for life.
She is such a joy to have around.
With God blessings, I now abound.

Glad I am she is on my team.
I can, with pride, rightfully beam.
With her, I am assured to win
Whatever battles the world may send.

Blessing Not a Burden

For my children, I thank you, Lord;
Fruit of the womb, I know is your reward.
A burden–may I never view them,
But always cherish mine as precious gems.

With your heritage, you entrusted me.
A good steward, enable me to be.
I pray to be the mother You want,
Failing to allow my task to daunt.

Grant me wisdom to bring my kids up true–
In the nurture and admonition of You.
Help me train them in the way they should go,
Teaching them whatever they need to know.

Let me not spare the rod of correction,
But still also show them kind affection.
Balance may I use in my discipline,
Remembering once a child I've been.

May I forego provoking them to wrath,
By example, lead them down the right path.
I must remember when I start to pout:
Children are a blessing without a doubt.

What God Has Joined

What God has joined together,
Let no man put asunder.
To dishonor your wedding vows,
Would be a terrible blunder.

Marriage is an honorable thing;
The bed is pure and undefiled.
It should endure for a lifetime–
Not merely for a little while.

God hates divorce–putting away.
With your own spouse, attempt to stay.
Strive to work your differences out;
Forgiveness is what love's about.

In your union, esteem God first.
You said, "For better or for worse."
Remember that one flesh you are.
Against the enemy, wage war.
